Several conditions can look similar
White deposits may be on the surface, within the paver, or trapped in or beneath a coating. Efflorescence, hard-water minerals, moisture whitening, incompatible products, overapplication, and coating failure can overlap visually.
Why a quick reseal can backfire
Another coat may lock in moisture, increase cloudiness, create an uneven sheen, or complicate future removal. A small test area can help determine whether cleaning, stripping, waiting, or another correction is appropriate.
What to document
- When the haze first appeared
- Whether it changes after rain or dry weather
- What product was previously applied, if known
- Whether the issue is shaded, low-lying, or near irrigation
- Any cleaners or acids used on the area
Montgomery moisture and timing
Warm, humid conditions and localized summer rain can narrow drying windows. The surface may look dry while moisture remains in joints or pavers, so product-specific moisture checks and forecast timing matter.

Send photos in dry daylight and note the surface history. Ask the provider what they believe is causing the haze, what test they recommend, and what outcome is realistic.
